Long description of the experience: Atalaias (Watchtowers) route is a circular route that starts and ends in the city of Moura. The most interesting points are the Atalaias (Watchtowers) that were built under the reign of D. Dinis, around the end of the 13th century in an effort to control this section of the border with Castile (Spain).
The route starts in Moura next to the city market and goes towards the Roman bridge over the Brenhas river, passing the watchtower of Porto Mourão next to the Ardila river.
The next point is the Magra watchtower, where it is possible to see the city of Moura from a different perspective, at 12 meters high, before heading back to Moura. It is a route with medium difficulty in which you will be able to observe the monuments, the fauna and flora of the region.
